Riff is a partnered project between BYS, Byron YAC and the community offering numerous opportunities for young people to be mentored and tutored in musical development, including the RIFF BAND, DJ classes & Event Management Courses.
BYRON YOUTH SERVICE GETS FUNKY
Young musicians aged between 13 and 24 are invited to participate in a regular jam @ Byron YAC ( 1 Gilmore Crescent, Byron Bay). Sessions will be held each Wednesday (during school terms) between 5 and 7pm. These sessions will be facilitated by local musician and producer Nick Edin.
Nick has been a professional musician since 1993, playing a variety of instruments including: guitar, drumkit, base and didgeridoo. Nick has played played/recorded/toured with artists like Diana Anaid, Lou Bradley, Dharmor percussion with Tony Lewis, The Re-mains, Fuscious, Pepa Rose, Dan Rowan, The Hoochers, Hannah Pearl and many others. Nick currently plays in Ghost Mountain with acclaimed producer Christian Pyle, Sally Yates and Eben McCrimmon. He has also produced several albums for bands and artists alike.
Nick has a special desire to see improvised music flourish and is looking forward to facilitating young people who wish to jam and make music together. There is a drumkit and PA available, as well as a few guitars and a keyboard.
Come along to the Y.A.C. @ 5pm on Wednesdays
