Street Cruise
Street Cruise an initiative of Byron Youth Service aims to increase the safety of young people under 18 on the streets of Byron Bay CBD.
Street Cruise staff and volunteers will maintain a street presence each Friday night between 8pm and 12am. Extra shifts arise on long weekends and other holiday periods.
One Street Cruise team is based at the Rotunda at Railway Park – a safe spot or meeting point for young people. A second team of youth workers will walk through town and to where young people congregate.
Assistance will be provided through positive contact, role modelling, advocacy, providing relevant information and referral where required.
'BYS, Byron Youth Service, is definitely the best service around because it helps young people that are very intoxicated and homeless and sets them in the right direction. Thank you very much for your help'. love Marlo, Dylan and Daniel.
