L DRIVER COURSE

Get 20-hours credit for your logbook & become a safer driver! 
 

The Safer Drivers Course for Learners is run by BYS for students in the Byron Shire.

The course combines theoretical and practical training for under 24   L-plate drivers with a minimum of 50 logbook hours.

The course is split into two modules:  

Module One: Three-hour facilitated group discussion on risk management on the road. Maximum of 12 participants. Delivered by a facilitator. Usually on a Wednesday 4.30pm - 7.30pm.

Module Two: Two-hour in-vehicle coaching session to develop low-risk driving strategies. 2 participants and a coach. Usually on a Saturday.

The course must be booked 1 month in advance of a licence test. All efforts will be made to ensure both modules are run within two weeks of each other. 

Participants may complete Module Two with a friend or be matched with a suitable partner. A dual control vehicle is provided for the in-vehicle session.

Both modules must be completed to gain 20-hours credit. The course has been developed in conjunction with the Centre for Road Safety. Watch a promo video here!
